Update on dad

Dad is ok, but he isn't doing too good. His oxygen levels usually hang around 96 or 97, today when the nurse came it was 93. Nurse B said not to worry until it got into the low 80s. Well poo on Nurse B, I will worry if I want to.

Dad is having problems -- again -- with his blood pressure dropping when he stands. It is also low just sitting. Nurse B called the doctor and Dr said to stop one of dad's blood pressure medicines.

I was told by P, the Hospice social worker, that COPD can change on a dime. So I just don't know what to expect. Well I sort of do, but I still don't know. I know that sounds weird, but I guess I'm confused about a lot of things at the moment.

I am guessing we will soon be at the point where dad can't get out of the bed. When that happens I don't know what I'll do. I can't take care of him if he is bedridden.

Oh, did I tell you that I had to have one of dad's cats Sarah put to sleep a few weeks ago? He still has the other cat -- 150 --. It was hard to let go of Sarah. She was 16 years old. Such a sweet cat, we even mentioned her in mom's obit.

  3. I've been catching up today . . . I'm sorry your dad is so ill. You are always in my prayers even when I don't make it over here for updates. I miss our old AOL-J days a lot ~ updates in our inboxes made us all seem closer. I miss you, Kathy. Love and blessings, Penny
